The Bench for Slack
Your organization's AI agents, available in the place your team already talks. Ask questions, delegate work, and get finished documents back — without leaving Slack.
Requires a Bench account — you'll be asked to sign in first if you aren't already.
What you get
Chat where your team already works
Send the Bench bot a direct message or mention it in a channel and your organization's AI agents answer right there in Slack — research, drafting, analysis, the same work they do on the Bench dashboard.
Threads that remember
Every Slack thread is one continuous conversation. Reply in the thread and the agent picks up exactly where it left off — no re-explaining context.
Documents delivered to the thread
When an agent produces a report, spreadsheet, or deck, the file is uploaded straight into the Slack thread, ready to open or share.
Your agents, your rules
Pick which of your organization's agents handles a conversation, and only teammates who are members of your Bench workspace can use the bot. Admin controls stay on the Bench.
How installation works
- 1
Sign in to your Bench workspace
The Slack app connects to your organization's Bench account, so start by signing in (or ask your Bench administrator for access). Clicking “Add to Slack” below takes you to sign-in first if needed.
- 2
Approve the app in Slack
You'll land on Slack's consent screen showing exactly what the app can do. Pick your Slack workspace, review the permissions, and click Allow. That's the whole install — no tokens to paste, nothing to configure.
- 3
Start a conversation
In Slack, open a DM with the Bench bot — or invite it to a channel and @-mention it. Ask a question or hand it a task; it replies in a thread, and replying in that thread continues the same conversation.
Permissions & access
- The bot only sees messages sent to it — direct messages and @-mentions. It doesn't read anything else in your workspace.
- It posts replies in threads and uploads the documents your agents produce.
- Only Slack users who are also members of your Bench workspace can use the bot; everyone else gets a polite decline. Removal is one click in Slack's app settings or on the Bench Connectors page.
